The Epithet -Excerpt

I’m standing here silently looking at your headstone. It’s raining today, or is it still raining? I listen as the raindrops touch down and disappear into the grass that blanket the earth which covers your crypt. It’s cold. The damp air creeps down my neck in behind my jacket. I pull it tighter around my body as if it will keep out the moist air. I felt no different today. You know how everyone always says time will heal, who are they kidding? Most of them have lost no one to something so stupidly senseless and violent; something that has no justifiable or worthwhile cause. What do they know?

Who is That Masked Man?

Who is the man behind the title? He is masked in mystery and as you journey through the life of Anna Windsor, it may surprise you to find the answer to this question.  Keep your eyes and ears open as you move through the story. The belief that one can control anything is beyond our reality, however, there are those who will tell you otherwise.

What we see is not always the surrounding reality. This you will see as the tale begins. I will confirm it as the series grows and the world interrupts our reality as it exists around us.

Fear not the reaper, but watch out for your neighbor!

The First In The Series

Ways of War is the first in the series of books that touches on what has been labeledmind control”. It is the book that introduces the characters that will move through the series of events. The central character is Anna Windsor, a young mother whose life is altered when her husband goes to war. The call to war is the catalyst for everything that follows.

It is a time of turmoil during an era that now is compared to the Iraqi war and the struggle in the Middle East. We had much to learn from a time of not so long ago. Though I don’t think our government is listening or watching. Our history is doomed to repeat itself as we have not learned from it.  As you work your way through the book, you may find parallels to the world of today, showing that though times and values change, we will always struggle to learn the lessons of love and respect of life.

While, reading you may find that you connect with one or many of the characters. We each of us long for love and security. We all wish for happiness as defined by society, not realizing that happiness is ever evading and constantly arms-length away. This unless we finally realize our happiness is that which comes from within and not without.

Ultimately, the story is a continuation of events that unfolds; changing just as the course of history changes. The lives and some events are fiction while the main series of events are historical. There is much in Government that is secret and deceptive, not only in present-day events but those of the past.

Do You See What I See?

Do you see what I see as you journey through your life? Is the day full of light or dark as you reach your door? These times are confusing. Though we want to believe in the constancy of love and compassion, we are continually reminded of the evil side of nature. Keep praying for days to become brighter as we walk through the darkness. Watch over your shoulder while keeping an eye on the path you take.  Time will continue to pass. The path before us is littered with debris we must maneuver our way through with positive intentions so we will hopefully affect change in a world that continues to grow darker with the passing of days.

Thank you For Your Service

Thank You for Your Service
Sometimes I think we take for granted
All the things we have been handed.
We have forgotten all the men
Who gave their lives and would again
I walk the streets and take a stand
anywhere throughout the land
I speak my mind and say my peace
I pray these freedoms never cease
For all the things I say and do
I assume are rights, we all do
Yet all these things we have and say
Could go away any day
If not for you and your bravery
I shudder at the thought of slavery
Your sacrifice has kept us free
To be all that we wish to be
It breaks my heart to watch the few
Who says they never knew
The sacrifice you chose to make
For us and for our country’s sake
The time has come to step up and say
Thank you for protecting our way
For being willing to pay the price
Forgiving the ultimate sacrifice
Now I shall do my best to say
Thank you all in my way
Even though words do not come
Easily they should be welcome
Thank you for our freedom
Thank you for our safety
Thank you for your service
Thank you for your sacrifice

It Exists Around You

You set to pen that which you see as it exists around you. As you watch the world pass you by, you try to capture a glimpse of it and put it on the page. People go about their business while you, without their knowledge or consent, create a world for them they will never know. This is the imagination creating at its best.
